Nova Scotia PNP

Nova Scotia's provincial nominee program (PNP) is called the Nova Scotia Nominee Program, or NSNP. You view and apply to NSNP streams through the province's online portal. Before anything else, you want to know which streams are open today. The province's own portal is where you find that out, not any federal site.

The Portal Where You See and Apply to NSNP Streams

Nova Scotia uses an online portal called LAMPSS, where you can view and apply to the NSNP streams that are open. You go to the home page, sign in or set up an account, and the streams currently accepting applications show up on a list there.

It makes sense to start with that list, because it shows which streams you can apply to right now.

Do Representatives Work in the Same Place?

They do, but anyone planning to act for other people has to register before they can use it. On the portal, a new representative sees nothing but the registration form; after the province approves them, they can file applications for their clients.

So if the person managing your case cannot see your stream yet, it may be because their registration has not been approved. Want to confirm a consultant's licence with the College? You can check it by name, company, or College ID right here at /immigration-consultant/. One thing to be clear about: what we offer here is information, not immigration advice.

Express Entry Draws for Provincial Nominees

The federal government runs Express Entry, which scores every candidate with a number called the CRS and sends invitations to the people at the top. It also runs special draws just for people who already hold a provincial nomination, and the cut-off scores in those draws have run far above the scores in ordinary draws.

DrawDateNumber of invitationsMinimum CRS score
PNP, round 44813 October 2026752772
PNP, round 44528 September 2026733725

CEC, round 44915 October 20262,500519
French-language proficiency, round 45016 October 20265,000435

The numbers come straight from the official rounds page. So far in 2026, up to 16 October, there have been 62 draws and 143,467 invitations altogether. Every draw of 2026, newest one included, is on our page at /express-entry/latest-draw/.

No one can promise that an invitation will come your way. Each draw sets its own invitation count and its own minimum score. The table tells you what has already happened, not what is coming.

What the Federal Step Costs in Time Right Now

After a province nominates you, the federal government takes over your permanent residence application, and how long you wait depends on the route you took. The processing times page publishes the current estimates.

RouteEstimated wait right now
Provincial nominee, Express Entry routeRoughly 7 months
Provincial nominee, base streamRoughly 13 months
Atlantic Immigration ProgramRoughly 26 months
First PR cardAbout 30 days

Base stream nominees currently face a longer estimated wait than nominees in the Express Entry route. We keep a current copy of these numbers at /ircc-processing-times/. Treat them as estimates that shift often, not as a date you can count on.

Start With Your Score and Your Occupation

Before you sink time into a provincial application, you should be clear on two things about yourself: how high your CRS score sits and which occupation code you fall under. Recent draws for provincial nominees had minimum scores between 725 and 772, but those scores already include the extra points a nomination adds, so they are not the score you need before you apply to Nova Scotia.

  • The CRS calculator at / walks you through your profile and scores it step by step, first under today's rules and again under the new set arriving on 3 November 2026.
  • The CLB calculator, available at /clb-calculator/, takes your language test results and turns them into the CLB level feeding the score.
  • Find my NOC at /find-my-noc/ covers all 516 occupation groups and shows you the wage level for each.

Starting on 3 November 2026, IRCC puts 186 occupations in the high-wage bracket for Express Entry. Of those, 31 sit in the top tier, 89 in the middle tier, and 66 in the first tier. So check whether your own job makes that list before you compare streams.
