Ontario PNP (OINP)

The Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP), also called the Ontario PNP, is how Ontario picks people to nominate.

2026 OINP Draws

Ontario's latest draws ran from 23 to 30 April 2026, under streams that closed on 26 June. None have run since its new Ontario Workforce Priority stream opened for sign-up on 4 August. Scores use Ontario's own points grid, not CRS.

Understanding an OINP Draw Score

Ontario scores these draws on its own points grid, not on the federal one used for Express Entry. A 57 in an Ontario draw has nothing in common with a federal score of 57. The right comparison is the score on your own Ontario profile.

Ontario does not announce draws ahead of time. Meeting your stream's criteria does not guarantee an invitation, so a score close to a past cutoff is not a promise.

After an Invitation to Apply

An invitation is no promise of a nomination. Before applying, check that you qualify under your stream's eligibility requirements. You must also be able to prove every factor and point you claimed when registering.

New OINP Scoring Rules

Ontario adjusted a scoring factor on 5 October 2026, touching profiles in the Ontario Workforce Priority stream. Anyone who earned $80,000 or more in any one year over the last five years now gets 10 points. That income must be documented on a CRA Notice of Assessment.

Ontario unveiled a fresh round of REDI (Regional Economic Development through Immigration, its program for selected smaller communities) on 14 October 2026, one that will run until the end of 2027. It hands nomination spaces to chosen partner communities that need newcomer talent. To be considered, you still must satisfy the OINP eligibility requirements.

Express Entry Invitations for Ontario Nominees

The federal government runs Express Entry, an online system that ranks skilled workers. It runs its own Provincial Nominee Program rounds for nominated candidates.

In the round of 13 October 2026, 752 invitations went out and the lowest score invited was 772. On 28 September 2026, 733 invitations went out with a lowest invited score of 725, and on 14 September 2026, 576 invitations went out with a lowest invited score of 734.

Keep in mind that these scores count the 600 points a provincial nomination adds. Without a nomination, your federal score is better measured against draws for the Canadian Experience Class or category-based selections. Federal processing times differ by route. Right now, nominees applying through Express Entry wait about seven months, while those on the provincial base route wait roughly 13 months.
